New Mexico Rainforest University Center Spring Seminar Series

UNM Rainforest Innovations and the Innovation Academy are hosting their spring 2023 University Center Webinar series. The New Mexico Rainforest University Center provides entrepreneurial training and technical assistance at the University of New Mexico main and branch campuses. The webinars are free and open to the UNM community and the public via web access, but registration is required. A certificate program in entrepreneurial capabilities is available to UNM students and community members thru UNM’s Innovation Academy. If interested in the certificate program as part of the seminar series, please contact Matthew Salcido at msalcido@innovations.unm.edu.

About the Speaker:

Drawing on over two decades of scientific and strategic leadership and experience, Jessica has led teams through biotechnology-company building, fundraising, strategic planning, vaccine and immunotherapy development. She has secured over $150 million in non-dilutive, private and public capital, played key roles in setting and executing investor relations and public relations strategies, overseen significant organizational change, and developed novel immunotherapy candidates. She developed vaccine candidates to treat or prevent infectious diseases and cancer, and a personalized T cell therapy candidate designed to treat solid tumors, each of which has progressed through early stage clinical trials. Her responsibilities have included Research, Operations, Information Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance functions. She is an inventor on multiple issued and pending patents and an author on over 25 peer reviewed publications. Jessica is a passionate advocate for STEM education and careers for girls and women, and a member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women.

About the New Mexico Rainforest University Center

The University Center program is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration to provide entrepreneurial training and technical assistance to individuals or small businesses who are looking to start or grow their idea. The platform for the training will be e-commerce, designed to assist any business with its digital presence. The New Mexico Rainforest University Center provides entrepreneurial training and technical assistance at the University of New Mexico main and branch campuses. The webinars are free and open to the UNM community and the public via in person or web access, but registration is required. A certificate program in entrepreneurial capabilities is available to UNM students and community members thru UNM’s Innovation Academy.
